Dear Editor
'I write in relation to your article about the reduction in Speed Indicator Devices in the Yeovil area.
We have all applauded the reduction in the number of Killed and Seriously Injured (KSI'S) in Somerset since the introduction of the Road Safety Partnership and the efforts of all involved. These results must have made a difference to the NHS costs of dealing with these and will have made a real the difference to many otherwise bereaved families.
Therefore with cost cuts in a number of places in this area it is important that a proper risk assessments are carried out in order to give the confidence to the public that the rate of reduction will be maintained in the future.
Despite many attempts, as County Councillor, I have not been supplied with this info and therefore must asume that the assessment of the affect of cuts on the KSI's has not been made by the Tory administration.
I hope this is not the case and that the administration can give us the confidence that we will not face the possibility of an increase in KSI's in Somerset in the future.'
