Dear Mr Liddell-Grainger,
This afternoon at our Executive Board meeting we have considered my serious concerns regarding your persistent attacks on the County Council, its officers and Members. I will draw particular attention to the unjustified and vindictive campaign that you are running upon the workings of the County Council.
I will be pointing out that your false and repeated accusations are damaging the morale of senior officers, diverting them from the crucial business of providing and improving services to the people of Somerset, incurring cost in correcting your errors and causing able candidates to withdraw their applications to work with the Council. Your actions are damaging the reputation of the County Council.
Unless your ill-founded and vindictive approach ceases, the Council will need to take action to defend its reputation which will bring your veracity and credibility into close examination.
You may be aware that the week of 17-21 November is anti-bullying week in our schools in Somerset. This is an awareness raising campaign which will set out to challenge unacceptable behaviour. A cyber-bully is exactly the same as a bully who physically attacks people and I would ask you to endorse the principles of anti-bullying.
Do you not have enough of a job holding the Government to account? Surely we should be working together in order to ensure that the people and communities of Somerset get a fairer deal.
Yours sincerely
Sam Crabb
